Group is designed for young people in grades 6
through 12. It is led by our staff youth leader along with dedicated
adult volunteers. This group typically meets for fellowship,
followed by a service project, "fun" activity or bible study. Please check the calendar for dates and
We also have a Sunday School Class for grades 6 through 12 that meets
every Sunday morning.
Confirmation Class is held
as needed for 7th and 8th grade youth.
The United Methodist Church offers great summer
camps for our youth. Brochures are available in the lounge listing all the
various opportunities throughout the West Michigan Conference area. St. Paul's United
Methodist Men pay a deposit for each child attending.
St. Paul's youth conduct a worship service
once a year on Youth Sunday. They also participate at other times
of the year as ushers, greeters, communion stewards, lay readers, etc.
These programs provide our young people with opportunities to grow in the Christian
faith, and are balanced between areas of service, study, worship and fellowship. All youth of the church are encouraged to attend
any of our activities, which are publicized in the newsletter, bulletin and special

I grew up in the small town
of Hartford, Michigan. It was there that I was exposed to the Gospel through the childrenís
ministry of a small church near where I grew up. During my teenage years I became part of
a community filled with wonderful friends and mentors. It was during this time that
pastoral talents and passions were revealed and I felt God leading me into a career in
Responding to this call, I
attended Grace Bible College in Wyoming, Michigan and enjoyed four years of growing in
knowledge and fellowship as I studied and served in several local churches.
Upon graduating, I acted as
youth director of Franklin Community Church in Franklin, Indiana, serving under the man
who had been my youth pastor when I was a teenager. It was a great group of youth and I
was delighted to share life with them as we walked together for several years before I
departed to pursue Masterís level training at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South
I returned to west Michigan
this past June and was thrilled when offered the chance to serve here. Thank you for
letting me be a part of the family at Saint Paulís and I look forward to getting to
know you and share life together as we heed the call to love God and our neighbor.
