Opportunities in Music and Arts

~Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise. For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

~Psalm 33:1-4

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is open to all adults and high school youth who are interested in choral singing.   The Chancel Choir sings during our Sunday morning worship service.   Rehearsals are on Wednesday evening in the choir room located downstairs.  The choir takes the summer off and returns in the fall.

Music selections vary from traditional anthems from composers like Antonio Vivaldi to more contemporary anthems from composers like John Rutter.  The Chancel Choir works on music six to eight weeks out and the music library is refreshed yearly.  At least one cantata is performed every year at Christmas and/or Easter.
